Please treat it with care
When boiling the water
Add a liberal pinch of salt
Taste test two minutes before
The packet says to stop
Add a ladle of the water
And its starchy goodness
To the sauce
And keep the water when you strain it
Lest the dish dry out
Like too many a soul
In these times of doubt
Treat your pasta with the care
That you may not show fellow beings
And if you cook your pasta well
